Katesgrove Community Allotment

The Katesgrove Community Association (KCA) has a community allotment at Waterloo Meadows which attracts a diverse group of people interested in growing their own food as an active part of the wider community of Katesgrove.

An urban Secret Garden, tucked away on Western Elms Avenue, behind Reading West Station and the Lidl/McDonalds retail park.

Southcote GrowAllot Community Allotment

The purpose of the organisation is to teach local residents the art of sowing, planting and maintaining a variety of vegetables, fruit and flowers. Allotment members will be able to share in the harvest of vegetables, fruit and flowers, be welcome to attend sessions run by the garden tutor on how to grow food and be expected to get involved in the management and maintenance of the site by attending the AGM and workdays.

St Nicolas Centre Grounds

As part of a new community hub at the St Nicolas Church the grounds are being developed to provide space for the wider community, space for people, growing food, cooking food, encouraging wild life through social activities, workshops, and designing using permaculture structures.
